FASHION MEETS PHILANTHROPY

On September 28th, my sorority, Kappa Kappa Gamma, hosted an event called Fashion Meets Philanthropy. This event included free beverages and snacks, raffle prizes, and a runway show featuring looks from several Columbus stores including Figleaf Boutique. For this event, I was the liaison between Figleaf and my sorority. A week before the runway show, I styled the models in various looks. I wanted to show a wide range of outfits - formal and casual, daytime and nighttime, but overall stylish. I used merchandise that was new to our store to showcase Figleaf Boutique’s trendy and youthful vibe. After styling all eight models, I was responsible for sending pictures of them to my advisor, Lynne, so that she could approve the looks. It was my job to transport all of the merchandise from the Figleaf store itself to the event space at the Ohio Union. After the models walked the catwalk, I carefully packed up the merchandise and returned it to the store. I made sure to take several pictures for Lynne. The show seemed to bring business to Figleaf as several models and audience members bought pieces that were featured in the runway show. Although the event was somewhat chaotic and stressful, I was so proud that the looks I created received such positive feedback.
